Featured Beer: Aventinus

One of our personal favorites here at Octane, the Aventinus is a full-bodied beer, amber in color and has a pleasant clove-like aroma. It also pours a large head, and is smooth on the palate. The Aventinus glass is by far one of the coolest drinking receptacles you could hope for, giving your drinking experience the look of a true beer afficionato: a slimmer bottom half of the glass going up to a round, bulb-like top.

Spicy notes, and a slight taste of banana are also present in this 8.0% ABV German beer. The beer was named for Bavarian historian Johannes Aventinus (1477 - 1534). Aventinus (the beer) is a weizen beer, (wheat beer) and was created in 1907 thus making it the world’s oldest top-fermenting wheat doppelbock.

Beer Advocate gives this beer a 91% rating, which translates to “Outstanding.” Come in and order an Aventinus, or simply say, “I’ll have Jeremy’s favorite beer.” We’ll know the lingo.
